New York-based award winning French photographer and animal activist Sophie Gamand will exhibit her stunning “Flower Power” series of shelter dogs at the Russell Collection Fine Art Gallery from April 1 – 30.  Some of the dogs in Gamand’s exhibit at the Russell Collection were seniors and long-stay residents at Austin Pets Alive and have since been adopted, thanks to Gamand’s stunning photographs of the dogs being posted on social media.

Austin Pets Alive is grateful to the Russell Collection Fine Art Gallery for hosting Sophie Gamand’s show and generously donating a percentage of her sales to Austin Pets Alive. Since 2010, Sophie Gamand has focused on dogs and our relationship with them, traveling around the US photographing shelter dogs for free to help bring awareness to their fate and to help get them adopted.

Her most known series is Wet Dog and Flower Power, Pit Bulls of the Revolution. Gamand has won several prestigious photography awards for her work including a Sony World Photography Award in 2014 as well as advocacy awards for her dedication to animal rescue and adoption. Gamand’s works have been published in the press worldwide, online, and in print (Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, Oprah Magazine).  Gamand has exhibited in Paris and New York City.
